Deborah Hume is a professional dog trainer whose passion for animals, particularly for dogs and horses, started very early while growing up in Germany and England. Since migrating to Australia in 2011, Deb has turned her passion into a calling by continuously educating herself in canine behaviour, training, and obedience. By starting her first business, Deb’s Dog Walking & Training now called Purely Paws Dog Training, she has been able to pass this knowledge on to Townsville’s dog owners.
Her aim is to improve the understanding and communication between humans and dogs. She has had a great response from the Townsville community and has many happy canine and human clients. Deb also volunteers her time with various local and national rescue groups where she helps retrain and rehome rescue dogs with great success. Deborah is currently studying a Cert IV in Companion Animal Services with the Delta Institute and regularly attends national seminars and conferences to improve her knowledge.

Why We Do It

We are very passionate about what we do and the way we do it.
By working with various rescue groups around Australia we have seen a lot of mistreatment of animals, some by the owners, but some also by trainers. Most of this is due to misleading information from mixed resources.
We want to educate you and show you how to train your dog in a positive way so that your bond grows!

At Purely Paws Dog Training we take great pride in helping our clients achieve their training goals and in educating them on the way.
We just love what we do!
