FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Does my dog need to be vaccinated?

If you are undertaking any group or private lessons your dog DOES need to be up to date with their vaccinations, tick, flea and worming treatment. Should you be unsure, please contact us to discuss your options. Proof of vaccination is required for any group classes.

Do I need to attend all sessions or can someone take my place?

We require one owner/handler to be allocated to all training sessions. If you are unable to attend a session your trainer will discuss with you the best option whether it be rescheduling or somebody filling in for you. We allocate the same time slot for your training sessions to avoid this issue. This is to ensure the best results are achieved between you and your dog.

What is you cancellation policy?

In the case of cancellation, a $30 cancellation fee will be charged or loss of your session. This is at the discretion of the trainer.

What is your payment policy?

Payment is required, in full, prior to the commencement of your first official session. Payment plans are available for some packages. If payment is not received by 24hours prior the trainer has the right to cancel your booking.

Do you have any age limits for your classes and/or private training sessions?

You can start training your dog from as young as 6 weeks and the saying ‘you can’t teach an old dog new tricks’ is not true and we also welcome senior dogs.

Do I need to bring anything to sessions?

Enclosed footwear, appropriate clothing, sunscreen, mozzie spray, hat and a treat bag (which is provided for free with any of our package bookings) your own treats, standard 4-6 foot leash (no retractable leashes) and poo bags.

How would you describe your training methods?

We believe that dogs are incredibly intelligent animals, bred to thrive on human attention and companionship. Our training is aligned with modern scientific methods. At Purely Paws we train dogs using positive reinforcement to encourage appropriate behaviour reoccurring and we discourage inappropriate behaviour with humane and fear-free techniques.
